Protective Design Engineer-in-Training Farin Tabassum, Protective Design Engineer-in-Training with Protective Design and Blast Engineering firm IntegralRSG

Farin Tabassum is a rising engineer fusing sustainability, resilience, and creativity for safer, low-carbon environments. With a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Calgary, she brings technical rigor, systems thinking, and inventive problem-solving to protective design work.

She has gained hands-on experience in roles at BluEarth Renewables, Zentek Ltd., and ARUP—working across renewable energy, materials innovation, systems modeling, and sustainable design. As a research assistant, she explored climate-smart concrete innovations, addressing carbon capture, and embodied-carbon reduction. She also led her university’s steel-bridge team to national podium finishes, turning ambitious design into real-world performance.

At IntegralRSG, Farin supports design teams by modeling structural resilience, evaluating material-safety tradeoffs, and integrating sustainability into protective solutions. She thrives at the intersection of disciplines, drawing on technical depth and curiosity to deliver protective designs that are both resilient and resource wise.
