Based in San Diego, Alex McQuillan brings a field-informed perspective to IntegralRSG’s protective design studio. Alex began his career in protective design, working alongside Shalva and Brian in San Francisco at a previous firm. He pairs that foundation with a broad toolkit spanning structural assessments, plan review, steel fabrication, prefabricated steel homes, and residential wood construction. His career has even stretched to the island of Palau, where he worked as a plan checker and permit reviewer.

Known for his technical judgment, adaptability, and construction-minded problem-solving, Alex brings a grounded understanding of how structures are designed, reviewed, built, and improved. At IntegralRSG, his return to protective design is a full-circle moment, reconnecting him with meaningful technical work and the high-quality relationships that brought him to here in the first place.
