VA Healthcare Modernization at Coatesville & Beyond
Safeguarding the Digital Backbone of VA Healthcare
Across the country, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is modernizing its
medical records through the Electronic Health Record Modernization
(EHRM)
program. This sweeping initiative aligns with Department of Defense (DoD) systems to ensure seamless care for Veterans. IntegralRSG is
leading protective design across multiple campuses in this nationwide effort, reinforcing mission-critical facilities that bring VA
healthcare into the digital era.
At the Coatesville VA Medical Center in Pennsylvania, serving Veterans since 1930, that mission takes shape in a new Main Computer Room (MCR). Though compact, the MCR powers digital records and contributes to the VA’s broader EHRM framework. IntegralRSG, in partnership with structural engineer Meyer Borgman Johnson (MBJ), hardened the facility to remain operational under hazard events. Our team integrated blast-resistant construction, standoff distances, vehicle barriers, and controlled access—safeguarding both the physical environment and the sensitive data it protects.
The result is a facility that protects Veterans’ medical records and strengthens the digital backbone of VA healthcare—locally in Coatesville and collectively as part of a nationwide network of resilient EHRM facilities.
