Clackamas County Circuit Courthouse
Expanding Access to Justice in Clackamas County

Clackamas County’s rapid growth outpaced its former courthouse, straining community
access to timely and equitable justice. The new six-story courthouse on the Red Soils Campus addresses that gap, creating modern spaces
purpose-built for the region’s needs. With 16 courtrooms, 20 judicial chambers, and spaces for jury assembly, the facility increases
capacity and improves operational efficiency. Enhanced security features—including safe circulation corridors, secure holding cells,
and improved detainee transfer facilities—protect staff, jurors, and community members alike. As Oregon’s first courthouse delivered
through a Public-Private Partnership, the project sets a statewide precedent for building civic infrastructure that is safe, efficient,
and sustainable.
IntegralRSG played a critical role by shaping and implementing the protective design strategy. Our team guided consensus among county stakeholders, embedding anti-ram site elements and other security features tailored to Clackamas County’s priorities. By aligning safety with function and community goals, we allowed the courthouse to deliver justice securely and with peace of mind.
